RAYS WIN AL EAST - Completing Biggest Regular Season Turn Around in History!

Early this morning, September 27, 2008, the Tampa Bay Rays wont the most difficult and improbably victory in the history of the young frachise - the AL EAST TITLE.

After a touch loss to Detroit earlier in the day (actually the previous day), the Rays new best friends (for a day), the Yankees, delivered a dominating victory over the Boston Red Sox to seal the deal for the Tampa Bay Rays. What an amazing season and the fun is just beginning. Go Rays!

----------------

I'll add my personal story to this blog later, but in short, I was traveling on busines in the DC area and had a chance to catch the first potential clinching game - the Rays won, but then the Red Sox managed a 1-run win against the Indians. I was then on to Boston for another business meeting and decided to attend the Red Sox / Indians game in the event that the Indians could find a way to win (and thereby give the Rays the clinch). No luck, once against - the Red Sox found a way to win it also. Unfortunately, there was no business for me in Detroit, so the third time was not the charm. Regardless, it was a lot of fun meeting a bunch of other die hard Rays fans on the road (may from Tampa/St. Pete). More to come later along with some pics from the trip.... Stay tuned.

Although I would have preferred the Rays to win the Decision opposed to having it handed to them by the Yanks , it's still an amazing feat that this team hung in 1st place all year long.

I really look forward to the playoffs.

I couldn't be more fired up for the playoffs. I truly believe the Rays have a great chance of winning this thing.
